The Olde Bell and The Crown Inn are the first in a family of modern day coaching inns (with the Liongate joining in 2010). The Inns are the invention of the creative director and designer Ilse Crawford, who defined the concept of reinstating the traditional inn, as a place of rest, sustenance and a necessary stop for travelers from the rigours of the road. The kitchen is in the charge of the celebrated Rosie Sykes, author of The Kitchen Revolution and columnist for Waitrose Food Illustrated, providing locally sourced food grown by small suppliers, served simply.
